Tripolo Cookie Policy

10/9/26

Effective Date:

9/29/26

Published Date:

Effective: 10 October 2026 Last updated: 30 September 2026

This Cookie Policy supplements the Tripolo Privacy Policy and explains how Tripolo, Inc. uses cookies and similar technologies on the Tripolo Platform, and the choices available to you.

Cookies are a website technology. This Policy is therefore concerned mainly with the Tripolo website. The Tripolo mobile applications do not use cookies; they keep you signed in using a secure token held in your device’s own credential store, which is not shared with any third party and is not used to recognise you on other websites or applications.

1. What we use, in summary

Tripolo does not use advertising cookies. We do not serve tailored advertising, we do not allow advertising networks or social media platforms to place tracking pixels or SDKs on the Tripolo Platform, and we do not share your information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We use cookies and similar technologies only to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, keep your account secure, and understand how the Platform is performing.

2. Technologies we use

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to recognise your browser or hold settings. Two kinds are used:

  • Session cookies expire when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain after you close your browser and are read again on your next visit.
  • Local storage holds settings in your browser in a similar way to cookies.
  • Server logs record technical information each time your device connects: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and settings, system language, time zone, access times, and error data.

3. Categories

Strictly necessary

  • Purpose: Sign-in and session management, security, fraud detection, load balancing, remembering your consent choices
  • Can you refuse? No — the Platform cannot function without these

Functional

  • Purpose: Language preference, recently viewed Service Pages, accessibility settings
  • Can you refuse? Yes — through the cookie banner; some conveniences will stop working

Analytics

  • Purpose: Aggregate measurement of page performance, error rates and visit counts, so we can find and fix problems. These are set by the platform on which our website is hosted and by the error-monitoring service it uses, not by us directly
  • Can you refuse? Yes — through the cookie banner on this website

Advertising

  • Purpose: Not used
  • Can you refuse? —

4. Third parties

We do not permit third parties to collect information through the Tripolo Platform for their own advertising purposes.

Service providers we engage — for website hosting, error monitoring, payments, mapping, and customer support — may set cookies, or receive technical information such as an IP address and error data, where this is necessary to deliver their part of the service. They act on our instructions and may not use the information for their own purposes.

The Tripolo Platform does not embed social media plugins, “like” buttons, or share widgets that transmit your activity to social networks.

5. Your choices

Browser settings. Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can change this in your browser’s settings or help section. If you decline cookies, parts of the Platform may not work as intended.

Cookie banner. When you first visit the Tripolo website you are asked whether to allow functional and analytics cookies. Until you accept, only strictly necessary cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the website footer. Declining does not affect your ability to book or manage a Guide Service, or any other part of the service.

In the applications. Because the Tripolo applications do not use cookies, there is no cookie choice to make in the applications.

Do Not Track. The Tripolo Platform does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as there is no agreed industry standard for interpreting them. This has no practical effect on your privacy here, because we do not track you across other websites in the first place.

Global Privacy Control. Separately from Do Not Track, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not currently sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes, GPC signals will be honoured from the day it changes.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use. Material changes will be notified in accordance with the Tripolo Traveler Terms. If we ever introduce advertising or cross-site tracking technologies, we will update this Policy and the Privacy Policy before doing so, and will obtain consent where required by law.
